Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and LiftHard. They cover what the app is, what it is not, what you owe us, what we owe you, and what happens when either side wants out.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading, opening or using the LiftHard mobile app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The agreement is between you and LiftHard ("LiftHard", "we", "us"), the operator of the app and this website, reachable at [email protected].
You must be at least 16 years old to use LiftHard. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. What LiftHard is
LiftHard is a strength-training app. It generates training plans from the profile you provide, logs the sets you complete, adjusts future targets from that history, and shows your progress over time. It is provided as a consumer software product for general fitness use.
3. Health & safety disclaimer
LiftHard is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Nothing in the app is a diagnosis, treatment, prescription or substitute for professional judgement. Consult a qualified physician before starting any training programme, particularly if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or illness, or managing a cardiovascular, metabolic or musculoskeletal condition.
Resistance training carries an inherent risk of injury. You train at your own risk, you are responsible for your own technique and load selection, and you should stop immediately and seek medical attention if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort or shortness of breath.
Plans, weights, rep targets and rest times generated by the app are estimates derived from the information you enter. They are not tailored to any condition we do not know about. Always prefer your own judgement, or your coach's, over what the screen says.
4. Your account
- An account is optional; it exists to sync your history across devices.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your credentials confidential.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- One account is for one person. Do not share, sell or transfer it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code or training logic of the app, except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
- Copy, resell, sublicense or redistribute LiftHard content, including generated plans and exercise material, as your own product or coaching service.
- Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or access it by automated means beyond ordinary app use.
- Upload unlawful, infringing or abusive content, or impersonate anyone.
- Use LiftHard to provide regulated medical, physiotherapeutic or clinical services.
6. Subscriptions & billing
LiftHard Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those stores collect payment, hold your payment details, and administer renewals — we never receive your card information.
- Renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the price shown at purchase, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: handled under the policy of the store you purchased from. We can ask them to consider a refund on your behalf but cannot issue one directly.
- Free trials: where offered, a trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand.
- Price changes: announced at least 30 days ahead in the app and by email, and they never apply to a period you have already paid for.
- Statutory rights: if you are a consumer in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction with a cooling-off period, those rights apply in addition to the store's policy.
If a subscription lapses, your training history is preserved and remains readable on the free tier; Pro-only features become unavailable until you resubscribe.
7. Content & licences
Our content. The app, its interface, brand, text, exercise library and progression logic are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use LiftHard for your own training on devices you own or control. No other rights are granted.
Your content. Workout logs, notes, measurements and anything else you enter remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to host, back up, process and display that content so the app can function, and to provide support when you ask for it. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
Feedback. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation or compensation. Do not send us anything you consider confidential.
8. Availability & changes
We aim to keep LiftHard available and working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed or removed as the product develops; where a change materially reduces functionality you paid for, we will tell you in advance and offer a pro-rated refund of the unused period where the law requires it. Core logging and plan generation work offline, so short outages should not stop you training.
We may amend these terms. Material amendments are announced in the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page is updated. Continuing to use LiftHard after that date means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using the app and delete your account.
9. Suspension & termination
You can stop using LiftHard at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Account → Delete account, which is immediate and irreversible. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use threatens the security of the service — with notice where practicable, and immediately where it is not. On termination, the licences in section 7 end and data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LiftHard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy of generated plans, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will meet your fitness goals or that its recommendations are appropriate for your body or circumstances. Nothing here excludes warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, and consumer guarantees in your country continue to apply.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, for lost profits or lost data, or for personal injury arising from your training decisions. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to LiftHard is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
You agree to indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the app.
12. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which you reside, and any dispute may be brought before the competent courts of that country. Where local consumer law grants you rights or remedies beyond these terms, those rights apply and nothing here limits them.
Before starting formal proceedings, please write to [email protected] so we can try to resolve the matter informally within 30 days. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and are not responsible for the app; where the App Store terms require it, Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce the relevant provisions of these terms.
13. General terms
- Entire agreement: these terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about LiftHard.
- Severability: if a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver: not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: you may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale, on notice to you.
- Language: the English version prevails if translations conflict.
