Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask us most often about training with LiftHard. If your question isn't here, write to us and we'll answer it directly.
Training & plans
Do I need gym experience to use LiftHard?
No. During setup you tell LiftHard how long you've been training, and it starts you on conservative loads with plenty of room to progress. Every exercise has a short form guide and a demo you can check between sets.
How does the app decide when to increase my weights?
LiftHard reads your logged sets against the target rep range. Clear the top of the range on all sets and the load goes up next session. Fall short two sessions in a row and it holds the weight or trims a set so you can catch up.
Can I edit the plan it generates?
Yes — everything is editable. Swap an exercise, change sets and reps, reorder the session, or delete a day entirely. Your edits are respected in future weeks rather than overwritten.
What if I train at home with limited equipment?
Tell LiftHard what you have — dumbbells, bands, a pull-up bar, or nothing at all — and it only programs movements you can actually perform. You can update your equipment list any time and the plan adapts from the next session.
I missed a week. Does my plan break?
No. LiftHard shifts the block forward and, after a longer gap, reduces loads slightly for a re-entry week before returning to your previous numbers.
App & devices
Which devices are supported?
iOS 16 and later, and Android 10 and later. Both store listings go live at launch; the buttons on this site will point straight to them.
Does it work without a signal in the gym?
Yes. Your plan and exercise library are stored on the device, so logging works fully offline. Anything recorded offline syncs the next time you have a connection.
Will my history move to a new phone?
If you create an account, your training history restores on any device you sign in to. Without an account your data stays on the one device, so we recommend exporting a backup before switching phones.
Account & deletion
How do I delete my account and all my data?
In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. The account is closed immediately and your training history, profile, body measurements and any health data we hold are erased from production systems within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within 90 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you can no longer sign in, email [email protected] from the address on the account and we'll verify and delete it for you.
Does uninstalling the app delete my account?
No. Uninstalling removes the data stored on that device, but a synced account and its history stay on our servers. Use Settings → Account → Delete account before uninstalling, or send us a deletion request.
Can I delete my training data but keep my account?
Yes. Settings → Privacy → Erase training history clears logged workouts, personal records and measurements while leaving your login in place, so you can start a fresh plan from zero.
Can I get a copy of my data before I delete it?
Yes, and we recommend it. Settings → Export data produces a JSON or CSV file of your full history that you can save or open in a spreadsheet. Export first — after deletion we cannot recover anything.
What happens to my Pro subscription if I delete my account?
Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, so deleting your LiftHard account does not cancel them. Cancel in your store subscription settings first, then delete the account. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Data & pricing
What does LiftHard cost?
The core app — plan generation, logging, timers and history — is free. An optional Pro tier adds long-range analytics, unlimited custom exercises and detailed volume reports. There are no ads on either tier.
Who can see my training data?
Only you. We don't sell data, we don't run advertising, and there's no public profile or social feed. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we store and for how long.
Still stuck?
